You know your business needs to be on social media.
But which one?YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram?
As a beginner, all of this may seem overwhelming and complicated.
So how do you start?
The first thing you need to do is pick the right social network, the one where your target market is.
If you haven’t seen my video on how to get your target market, you can view it here:
I suggest starting with one, nailing it, then moving on to the next.
Whether it's Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, it’s up to you on which network you want to be on. You could be on all of them, but you could find it hard to keep up with them all.
So now that you have a platform, the second thing you need to do is start creating content. Yes, you're like to I have no followers, but when they do start seeing our content, something interesting needs to be there.
Start with completing your profile well, putting a great cover photo and information in there. Canva is a great place to go to create graphics and a cover picture.
Now that you're creating content, the next thing you need to do is to start building connections. And you need to build a connection with people, it's a social network. Just because you're on a computer doesn't mean you're not connecting with humans. So make sure you're friending all the people that you know, following them, commenting on their content and encouraging them. You're engaging, you're building connections.
And the last tip is don't worry too much about like or follower numbers. It's all about having valuable connections, personal ones. Because if your first 100 fans or followers aren't that engaged with you, all these social networks have it in their algorithms where they're looking at a percentage.
