Have a think about who is looking at your feed.
No - scrap that…
Have a think about who your perfect customer is and what they want to see that will entice them to buy.
Do they like ‘pretty’ things? e.g. baby girl’s bedrooms, flowers?
Do they like hardcore things? e.g. tattoo’s, motorbikes?
Do they like beaches? Nature? Scenery?
Do they like …. I could go on and on.
Hit me up in the comment with your product, and I’ll give you a few ideas :)
If your ideal customer is visual, then I suggest spending a little time stalking some great Instagram pages and seeing what they are doing.
Even if you’re not into making a totally curated page, like me, at least have a running thread of consistency to it, my Breathe.and.be.mindful page’s theme is blue and the sea, relaxing and calm.
There are more ideas in my ‘Stress Less and Sell on Instagram step by step guide’, but here are some to get you thinking.
If you have a product that has branding already on it, think about enhancing this in your feed.
Keep consistent fonts and filters too.
You can have more fun in your Instagram stories and groove it up a little if you get bored using the same things in your feed.
Remember to keep your feed real and authentic.
I remember when I first started a couple of years ago, I went and got my hair done; I changed my outfits all the time, I set up a photography corner with props in my home, invested in microphones, stands, all the ‘stuff’ I thought I needed.
Then a girlfriend said to me,
“Vic, we just want to hear what you say. We want our messy hair bun Vic, not the styled one. We don’t know who that is.”
It made me really think, she’s right. When people see me at workshops, I don’t want them to wonder when the styled Victoria is coming; I want them to know that I’m real, honest, a bit scruffy, not perfect, but willing to help manage people’s stress no matter what I look like.
People want to see you.
Balance out your feed with ‘in-the-moment’ shots. Things that happen to you every day.
